Summer Holidays to Glyfada
Glyfada Sun Holidays Review and Guide
Gorgeous, get away from it all resort needed? Then it has to be a summer holiday to Glyfada. If you can’t fall in with the gentle pace of the locals then this is not really the place for you but it’s not difficult. Of course, a Glyfada summer holiday all starts with the beach which just happens to be one of the finest on Corfu. Silk soft incredibly clean sand lapped by lapis lazuli waters backed by undulating hills as green as green can be – are you there yet? Stick your hand up and a waiter from the beach taverna brings your drink. Now I know you have got the picture of a Glyfada summer holiday.
The beach isn’t just a silent vigil of sun bathing though. As well as the giggling children building sand castles there’s the odd jet ski or the whoops from the water because no Glyfada summer holiday is complete without a banana boat ride. There’s also a public volleyball pitch on the sands. It’s not very often that you have the opportunity to go rock jumping in the sea, but on a summer holiday to Glyfada all you have to do is swim out a short distance and jump away to you heart’s content from a big outcrop that reaches 40 feet – if you’re brave enough.
The village is your home from home on a Glyfada summer holiday where the locals welcome you to their friendly taverna or to their dinky little shops, then finish by sitting with some ouzo to toast the magnificent sunset.
