Summer Holidays to Lourdas
Lourdas Sun Holidays Review and Guide
The south coast of Kefalonia specialises in quiet, get away from it all places and a summer holiday to Lourdas is not the place where party animals will get their kicks. It’s for couples who appreciate spending time together in beautiful surroundings and families who want to let the kids run fee on great, safe beaches where mum and dad can take time out from the rigours of life back home. The beach is the best feature of a Lourdas summer holiday. Set in one of the largest bays of Kefalonia there’s 2kms of shoreline to enjoy. The whole vista is very typical traditional Greek. A Lourdas summer holiday is characterised by the brilliantly blue sea which becomes pale sand and the village then stretches back up a steep hillside amid dark green pine trees which give way to Cypress forest. Walkers enjoy a Lourdas summer holiday with the scenic surrounds and gorgeous panoramas from the slopes of Mt. Ainos then the pleasant hike down to the village with its cute central square and shops and tavernas where you can sample vegetables grown on plots right next to the beach, fish caught that day and home made wine. If you want to shop for a special souvenir of a Lourdas summer holiday, the Garbis jewellery store is a local landmark not to be missed. There’s a couple of other gift shops to browse during pleasant strolls round the village and all in all a summer holiday to Lourdas is a beautifully lazy idyll.
