Frankly, there’s not a lot going on but who needs it? When you’ve got 7 kilometres of shoreline and a pretty village you are all set for days of ultimate relaxation and nights of laid back contentment. The beach is quite a quirky affair and certainly the delight of an Agios Fokas summer holiday. Being opposite the dormant volcano Nissyros, the beach has a two tone effect of glittering black sand and ice white pebbles and is punctuated with rock pools. It certainly offers variation to delight the kids on an Agios Fokas summer holiday and furthermore will be even more delighted with the swimming. Thanks to the island’s hot springs the sea is bath water warm between 40 and 47 degrees and a spring bubbles up in the sea at one end of the beach. A summer holiday to Agios Fokas is a favourite destination of windsurfers thanks to the water conditions. Other water sports are also available.

There are sufficient amenities around the waterfront to sustain you on an Agios Fokas summer holiday including great fish restaurants and friendly tavernas but Kos Town is only 4 km away and the bus service is regular. Even if you value the r&r you’ve found on your summer holiday in Agios Fokas, a visit to historic Kos Town is not to be missed.
