This little town on the sunny south west coast has geared up to tourism in recent years and today a summer holiday to Ribeira Brava is an attractive proposition. Set between and upon the hillsides of gently inclining cliffs, there’s a very pretty man-made sandy beach and swimming pool and a very attractive promenade with flower beds and stone benches from where to enjoy the views to front of the Atlantic or behind to the mountains of Madeira’s interior. One of the key points of a Ribeira Brava summer holiday is a climb up the spiral steps at the East end of the town to get a really spectacular panoramic view then walking through the rock tunnel to the fishing harbour.
