A São Vicente summer holiday is full of feasts for the eyes. As well as the beautiful natural surroundings, the very pretty beach, the rising hills, Pico da Cova, and the levadas, oh and the sunsets, the man made attractions are more than interesting like the double span bridge that sits over the river that splits the beach and is set in the middle with a huge boulder which has a tiny chapel built into it. There’s plenty of buildings to see on a São Vicente summer holiday but the stunning painted ceiling of the parochial church is the crowning glory.

So, it’s the new kid on the block, but a summer holiday to São Vicente has well and truly arrived.
