Along the way the Islands have been influenced by all of the interlopers and this has resulted in a rich heady culture that visitors taking a summer holiday to Malta can experience around every corner. In one day you can see prehistoric remains, medieval churches and fanciful rococo architecture all interspersed with modern edifices housing offices and hotels. There is art and museums in abundance including one dedicated to the George Cross & World War II but, a Malta summer holiday is not just about heritage.

The island and its companion Gozo, has beautiful beaches with plenty of activities for sea based leisure and a summer holiday to Malta includes all the flavours of some of the more commercial resorts around the Med. It is not plagued by hoards of clubbers yet has plentiful nightlife to entertain and some of the more interesting aspects of a Malta summer holiday are the multiple traditional festivals. Malta is a little gem.
